KROHNE Academy online: a goldmine for lifelong learners

The interest in freely accessible online learning opportunities for the process industry remains high: the KROHNE Academy online is steadily gaining new users and the number of regular visitors is also rising. In 2022, the number of registered users has increased to 27,000, which is an increase of 10% compared to 2021.
In parallel, the offering of the free learning platform is also growing: new eLearning courses are continuously added, in up to 6 languages. The spectrum ranges from measurement principles in the field of process measurement technology and their physical fundamentals to explosion protection, functional safety (SIL) or leak monitoring on pipelines. In addition to learning courses, the platform offers online seminars on current topics in the process industry at regular intervals, which are also available as video recordings for retrieval.
In 2020, the first year of the pandemic, the learning platform experienced a real boost. This is illustrated, for example, by the figures from April 2020: over 1400 new registrations, almost 7000 logins, and over 1000 completed courses on the learning platform - these values were 4 times higher than the monthly average. Users come from all over the world, sometimes proudly sharing their certificates of successfully completed courses on business networks like LinkedIn.
Most recently, KROHNE, in cooperation with PHOENIX CONTACT, AUMA, HIMA, SAMSON, Exida, Ramsys, Yncoris and Dow Chemical, published an international online seminar series on functional safety (SIL) in the process industry: Experts from the participating companies address topics on the operation and optimization of safety instrumented functions (SIF) in accordance with IEC 61508/61511. The seminar recordings are freely available for download.
